Below are some of the more common questions customers ask. If you
have a question not covered here, please use our contact details on our Contact
Us page.
Q: What is the turn around time generally?
A: Usually 2 to 3 weeks from arrival.
Q: What is the cost going to be?
A: Obviously this depends on the size of the job but prices
usually run between NZD $395.00 for a straight forward restoration of a
simple dash such as a Ford Escort to NZD $950.00 for a lot of American car dashboards. Very complex dashboards, e.g. a 1959 Cadillac, and custom dashboards can be in the NZD $1500.00 range. We always provide a free no obligation quotation before commencing work.
Q: Will my restored dashboard look original?
A: Yes. We use vinyl patterns and styles as close as possible
to the original factory finish therefore your classic will look very
original and its value won't be compromised.
Q: Are you able to replicate the original dash colour if it
isn't black?
A: Yes, we are able to produce any colour required. All we
need is a sample of the original vinyl colour. We make no extra
charge for this service.

Q: If I make up a dashboard or instrument binnacle for my kit
car or special, can you cover that in vinyl?
A: Certainly, but remember, the better the surface finish is,
the better the result will be.
Q: What types of dash can you recover, dash pads only or
complete vinyl dashes as used for example in Datsun 240Zs?
A: Both, we can restore simple dash pads as well as complex dashboards.

Q: What is the fit like after putting another layer of vinyl
on the dashboard?
A: Excellent, the vinyl layer is very thin and dashboards have
a certain amount of fitting tolerance anyway. Instrument apertures
are eased to allow a snug fit.
Q: Apart from dashboards and dash pads, what else are you able
to restore?
A: We also recover centre consoles and armrests.
Q: How resilient will the new coating be to sun damage?
A: In most cases the vinyl we use is thicker than the original
and with regular application of a non-silicone based protectant, a
very long life is assured.
Q: My dash top is deeply cracked, is this repairable?
A: Yes, we pride ourselves on the fact that we have yet to
reject a dash top through damage that we consider un-repairable.
